Wayne A. Marasco, M.D., Ph.D., is the Head of the Therapeutic Antibody Engineering group at the Department of Cancer Immunology & AIDS. Dr. Marasco's research laboratory is primarily focused on the areas of therapeutic human monoclonal antibody and vaccine development. These studies include developing passive immunotherapy and vaccines to treat both global and emerging infectious diseases including influenza, SARS, West Nile Virus and related Dengue virus infections. Dr. Marasco will assist in the core's initiatives to establish productive collaborations with investigators both affiliated and non-affiliated to CFAR.
Quan Karen Zhu, Ph.D. is the Deputy Director of the Therapeutic Antibody Engineering group at the Department of Cancer Immunology & AIDS. She also serves as the Research Director of the NFCR Center for Therapeutic Antibody Engineering (CTAE) at DFCI. Dr. Zhu has extensive corporate and academic research experience in antibody discovery and engineering in the area of infectious disease and cancer. She is actively involved in our humanizedmouse program. She will supervise the Core operation including research project design/establishment/execution as well as coordination within the Core and with the collaborators.
Subhabrata (Brad) Biswas, Ph.D., M.B.A., Senior Research Fellow, has been instrumental in setting up several humanized mouse models over the last several years working closely with Dr. Marasco. He has an extensive experience in the field of cellular immunology and vaccine development. He is currently leading our efforts towards developing newer strategies for 'humanization', Dr. Biswas will oversee all research projects of the core and will assist in the operational management.
Jiusong Sun, Ph.D. Lead Animal Specialist, has over six years of experience in mouse modeling and animal surgery. She is responsible for performing all of the humanized mice construction and characterization studies. Dr. Sun also serves as the initial contact person for interested investigators. She is leading our efforts in regenerative medicine
